Surprise Vulgarity...
I definitely got a shock when Straight No Chaser started talking about her online haters, as she actually flashes these comments on a screen behind her while she reads them. Straight No Chaser is a character with youtube videos, and a show on Netflix that appeals to young children, particularly girls. But adults and kids don't normally agree on these sorts of things anyway, so it's not really my cup of tea. Straight No Chaser was definitely funnier than I anticipated. Although she "bleeped" the curse words as she read them, they were printed out in all their blown up glory on the screen. Words I NEVER use around the kids (2 girls, 9 and 11). I am definitely not someone easily offended by language, as mine is quite "salty" most of the time, but not when I'm around kids. When she read one comment along the lines of, "Straight No Chaser, hearing you sing and watching your videos makes me flaccid..." let's just say that's a rather awkward thing we shouldn't have to explain when one of your girls leans over and asks her dad, "what's flaccid?" I just don't understand why some of these words can't have a partial black bar across them, since she's saying "bleep" instead of the word anyway. Why not censor those out? I'm sorry, but since this is a show marketed and loved by kids, I think there should be a tiny bit of respect for the parents that spent the money to let these kids attend.
